Storm Water

Storm water is rain or snow-melt runoff.  As this water travels across rooftops, paved roads, parking lots, and other surfaces, it can carry with it pollutants such as sediments, oil, pesticides, fertilizers, and trash.  These pollutants can then flow into local waterways and become harmful to aquatic life and threaten public health.

Storm water runoff is regulated by the State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) and the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) based on the Clean Water Act and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).

MBAS offers the analyses needed for storm water monitoring.  Our standard Storm Drain Panel includes:

  • Total Suspended Solids
  • pH
  • Oil & Grease
  • Conductivity

*Total organic carbon (TOC) may be added to this panel or substituted for oil and grease for an additional charge.  Please refer to your permit to determine which set of testing you require.  Information about pricing can be found in our price list.
