Bacteria Testing

The presence of certain types of bacteria in drinking water can pose an acute health risk. The safety of water used for recreational purposes is affected by the number and type of bacteria present. Certain types of bacteria can also affect the aesthetic quality of water and can impair the production of wells.

MBAS offers various microbiological testing.

• Coliform bacteria
• E. coli testing
• Fecal coliform
• Enterococcus
• Iron Related Bacteria
• Blue Green Algae
• Heterotrophic Plate Count

Coliform and E. coli testing can be conducted to obtain either Present/Absent results (a simple yes/no) or a Most Probable Number (MPN) count.
